Northwestern sweeps doubleheader with St. Mary's

ALVA, Okla. - A seven-run fifth inning propelled the Lady Rangers to an 11-2 five-inning win in game one. Northwestern kept the sticks hot in game two knocking off St. Mary's 7-2.

Game One - Box Score

Megan Bourdon's walk-off three-run home run in the fifth inning capped a seven-run frame giving the Lady Rangers an 11-2 win.

Alyssa Taylor singled with one out to begin the rally. Megan Snyder followed that with a single. Kelsey Ingram got her third hit of the game to drive in the first run of the game. Kylee Wilson's pinch hit single plated the next run of the inning. Cheyanne Terry delivered a two-run single and set the stage for Bourdon's bomb.

Taylor had an RBI double in the second inning to put the Lady Rangers up 1-0. Ingram's single made it 2-0.

Ingram was at it again in the fourth inning. She had another run scoring single to make it 3-0. The fourth Lady Ranger run of the game came on a wild pitch.

Jasmine Braxton picked up the win going 4.1 innings while fanning three hitters.

Terry and Taylor had two hits in game one while Ingram went a perfect 3-for-3 in the game.

Game Two - Box Score

The Lady Rangers stayed hot in game two using a four run third inning to doom St. Mary's 7-2.

Taylor was at it again for the Lady Rangers. Her two-run single put Northwestern up 2-0. Later in the inning Wilson's two-run single gave Lady Rangers starting pitcher Ashton Fitzgerald a four-run cushion.

Fitzgerald dominated all day pitching six inning giving up just one unearned run. She was the winning pitcher for Northwestern (12-7, 1-5 Sooner Athletic Conference) and fanned six St. Mary's hitters.

The Lady Rangers upped their lead to 6-1 in the fourth inning. Bourdon drove in her fourth run of the day with a sacrifice fly and Ali Seibel's squeeze bunt drove in the sixth Lady Ranger run of the game. Seibel went a perfect 3-3 in game two.

Taylor drove in another run in the sixth with a single. She finished a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBIs.

The Lady Rangers return to action tomorrow with a 1 p.m. doubleheader against St. Gregory's.

Wilson had two hits and two RBI.
