Twenty senior education majors at Northwestern Oklahoma State University began their student teaching this month.
The students will return to campus for seminars on Oct. 27 and Dec. 6. Their portfolio exit interviews will be during finals week Dec. 6-10. Graduation is scheduled for Dec. 5.
Listed below are the students studying elementary education, their hometowns and teaching assignments.
Jamie Carnes, Enid, Adams Elementary (Enid); Staci Drawbridge-Walker, Woodward, Horace Mann Elementary (Woodward); Tylee Record, Laverne, Laverne Elementary; Whitney Redman, Helena, Cherokee Elementary; Jessica Stokes, Pleasant Hill, Mo., Holden (Mo.) Elementary; Dawn Watson, Woodward, Sharon-Mutual Elementary; and Nikki Whitman, Enid, Glenwood Elementary (Enid).
Students studying health and sports science education are as follows:
Denise Estrada, El Paso, Texas, Kiowa (Kan.) Elementary; Katy Ferguson, Enid, Burlington Elementary; Samantha Phillips, Hazelton, Kan., Cherokee Elementary; Micala Servis, Woodward, Burlington Elementary; and Devon Thrash, Hennessey, Freedom Public Schools.
Early childhood education students are listed below:
Kaylyn Hansen, Turpin, Washington Elementary (Alva); Lacey Keeton, Mutual, Mooreland Elementary, Lara King, Laverne, Fort Supply Elementary; Holly Little Johnson, Balko, Kiowa (Kan.) Elementary; and Meagon Molone, Wooward, Mooreland Elementary.
Carl Gaebler, Hominy, will teach social science education at Enid High School, and Jeremy McBride, Ponca City, also will teach the same subject at Ponca City High School.
Brandi Peace, Alva, will teach special education/early childhood education in the Burlington Elementary district.
