Northwestern Oklahoma State University’s Department of Social Work and Woodward High School Key Club are joining forces to look for donations in the form of prom or formal dresses.
“Primp for Prom” is an annual March event for high school students from northwest Oklahoma and allows young women to pick out a prom dress at no charge. Currently, the Social Work Department and the Key Club are planning for the donations to be given away at an event in March.
“The Northwestern Department of Social Work is honored to sponsor this event,” said Dr. Kylene Rehder, social work department chair and associate professor of social work. “We are thrilled about the opportunity to provide gorgeous dresses to area high school girls so they can attend their important benchmark events and banquets in style.”
Students will be able to choose from all sizes, styles and colors that are donated. A fitting room also will be available for trying on dresses.
The event time and date will be posted at a later time.
To donate please email Rehder at firstname.lastname@example.org; drop dresses off at Woodward High School at 13th and Downs Avenue in Woodward, (580) 256-2858; or contact Gina Huenergardt at email@example.com at Shattuck High School, at 602 S. Hickory in Shattuck.
