BETHANY, Okla. – A 77-49 loss to Southern Nazarene on Thursday night put the Rangers back in a three-way mix for third place in the Sooner Athletic Conference. Northwestern is tied with Oklahoma Christian and John Brown, all with 12-7 conference marks.
Northwestern got behind early and trailed the entire game, thanks to a 0-14 effort from three-point range and only shooting 15.2 percent in the first half.
The Rangers improved in the second half, matching SNU’s output of 35 points. In the second half, NWOSU shot 52 percent and hit 2-of-7 three’s, while holding SNU to 42 percent.
The only Ranger in double figures was Brandon Brown, who scored 11 points with a three-pointer and six free throws. Brandon Dixon followed with nine points and David Holmes had seven.
Northwestern (17-10, 12-7) will host USAO at Percefull Fieldhouse on Saturday, Feb. 21 at 8 p.m. in the Rangers regular season home finale.
