                        Guest Masterclass Teacher, Dr. ChihChen Sophia Lee

Dr. Lee, pianist and music therapist, will share on the aesthetic value of music being a therapeutic tool, along with how her work in music therapy has assisted in the development of insight as a piano performer as well as in her professional work with the community.  

Additional time will be open to audience-generated questions and discussion, with the aim of fostering and encouraging further musical interest and/or pianistic development for students, teachers, and parents.   Topics may be wide and varied (“Improvisation at the Keyboard”, “How to Practice Effectively”, “Developing Piano Technique”, “The Work of Music Therapy and Community Building”, “Supporting My Child’s Musical Development”, etc.).

A limited number of piano warm-up rooms is available on the third floor of the Fine Arts Building. They are located mostly along the west wing of the building (Rms. 318, 319, 321, 322), as well as along the main corridor (Rms. 326, 327) and on the east wing (Rm. 321).
