Refine Conducting Gesture, Improve Rehearsal Techniques, Expand Knowledge of Music Literature...
Building on the success of last year’s Northwestern Oklahoma Conductors’ Symposium, we are pleased to announce the first annual Conductors’ Symposium devoted entirely to working with choirs. Specifically designed for music educators, church musicians and graduate students in conducting, the Northwestern Oklahoma Choral Conductors’ Symposium provides practical instruction in gesture and rehearsal technique. Conductors who are interested in attending may apply for either conductor status or participant status. Only a limited number of individuals will be accepted to conduct. Each conductor will be assigned two twenty minute sessions on the podium during which they will conduct the Northwestern Chorale. During each session they will receive comments and instruction from our featured clinicians. All participants will be actively involved in discussions, lectures and observation of all conducting sessions.
