Northwestern launching Ranger Rewards student discount program

January 23, 2013

 Ranger Rewards
Businesses that participate in Northwestern’s Ranger Rewards program will receive a decal to place in storefront windows as a sign of participation.  Ranger Rewards is a free student discount program, and is offered to any business that wishes to fill out an enrollment form offering a specified discount to Northwestern students with a valid university ID.

Students at Northwestern Oklahoma State University spend money with local businesses on clothes, gas, food and everything in between. Now, businesses across northwest Oklahoma have the opportunity to earn a greater share of the student market by participating in the Ranger Rewards program.

Ranger Rewards is a student discount program that is free to local businesses. All that is required is for businesses to complete an enrollment form and offer a specified discount to Northwestern students who present a valid university ID. Businesses will be provided a free window decal to show their participation in the program.

“Students are loyal to merchants who seek their business,” said Steve Valencia, associate vice president for university relations. “Ranger Rewards gives businesses the opportunity to build upon the customer loyalty of our students and help increase student spending.”

A current list of participating businesses and discounts will be available at www.nwosu.edu/ranger-rewards.

Northwestern also will use its social media platforms and other methods to publicize the program to students.
Northwestern launched the program Jan. 23 in its campus communities of Alva, Enid and Woodward, but businesses in other communities are invited to participate.

Businesses in Alva and non-campus communities who wish to participate are asked to contact Erika Birk, university relations specialist, at (580) 327-8480 or edbirk@nwosu.edu.

Enid businesses may contact Lori Coonrod, student services coordinator, at (580) 213-3147 or lacoonrod@nwosu.edu to obtain an enrollment form and decal.

In Woodward, contact Charlie Burns, campus coordinator of ITV/events coordinator, at (580) 254-2503 or cgburns@nwosu.edu.
