Northwestern Oklahoma State hurler Zac Floyd has been named Pitcher of the Week in the Sooner Athletic Conference for the week of March 19-25 as announced by the league office earlier today.
Floyd threw a complete game shutout against Oklahoma Christian. The Enid native gave up just one hit and struck out seven Eagles in a 2-0 win in the series finale on Saturday. Floyd's gem was one of three Ranger shutouts against the Eagles this weekend as Northwestern outscored Oklahoma Christian 27-0 in the three-game set.
The senior is 3-1 on the season and has settled in as a mainstay in head coach Ryan Bay's starting rotation.
Floyd is the third Ranger to earn the honor this season. Clay Thomas and Jason Martyn took home the award earlier this season.
