Northwestern Oklahoma State University’s Fine Arts Department will present its annual “Holiday Gala” Saturday, Dec. 5, at 7:30 p.m. in Herod Hall Auditorium.This event is free and open to the public.
Northwestern’s various music ensembles will bring in the holiday season during this annual concert.The University Singers and University Chorale, led by Karsten Longhurst, director of choral studies, will perform, as well as the Symphonic Band and Jazz Ensemble, led by Dr. Marc Decker, director of instrumental music.
“The choir and band will be performing almost all traditional holiday tunes such as ‘The First Noel,’ ‘Baby It’s Cold Outside,’ ‘Santa Baby,’ ‘Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas’ and much more,” Longhurst said. “I think even Santa himself has planned to make a stop at our concert.”
Both directors said the event will end with a sing-a-long with the audience.
Following the concert Dr. Janet Cunningham, university president, will officially light the university Christmas tree in front of Herod Hall. All audience members are welcome to join those festivities as well.
