Dr. Kenneth Drobnak, director of bands and assistant professor of fine arts, will present a Tuba Recital at the Alva First Presbyterian Church at 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 28.
Drobnak has performed throughout the central United States and is a featured soloist each summer with the Rapid City (S.D.) Municipal Band. In 2002, he performed at Carnegie Hall with the National Wind Ensemble. He also has performed at the National Music Museum, Mt. Rushmore National Monument and Severance Hall.
This recital will feature works by Puccini, J.S. Bach, Rimsky-Korsakov, Barbara York, Alec Wilder and Guido Papini. Drobnak also will provide a demonstration of the tuba and its various capabilities.
