Northwestern Foundation Release
The Northwestern Oklahoma State University Alumni Association is offering a special weekend getaway package for Northwestern football fans wishing to see the sights of San Antonio and cheer on the Rangers as they take on the University of Texas at San Antonio Roadrunners Sept. 22.
The group will leave from Alva by bus Friday, Sept. 21 at 6 a.m. and depart at 6 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 23 from San Antonio to return. The Alumni Association has reserved a 29-passenger bus through Red Carpet Charters. The cost is $150 per person. Fans traveling with the Alumni Association will receive free tickets to the Rangers vs. Roadrunners game at the Alamodome in downtown San Antonio. Kickoff is at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 22.
Rooms, each with two queen beds, have been held for Friday and Saturday night at the Drury Plaza Hotel San Antonio Riverwalk. Located at 105 South St. Mary’s St. on the Riverwalk, the Drury Plaza Hotel offers free hot breakfast, free wireless Internet access, and free snacks and beverages in the evenings.
The Alumni Association has secured a group rate of $125 per night plus a 16.75 percent occupancy tax. All Ranger fans are invited to join in on the fun and book on the block of rooms. Room reservations must be made through the hotel by Sept. 7 to receive the group rate.
In order for the bus to travel, all 29 seats must be sold. The Alumni Association encourages all Ranger fans to wear red and black and show their pride by supporting the Rangers on the road.
