Northwestern Alumni Association announces Outstanding Graduates

April 5, 2012

The Northwestern Oklahoma State University Alumni Association will recognize five Outstanding Graduates during the annual Spring Reunion Banquet on Saturday, April 28 at 6 p.m.

The honored alumni include: Maj. Gen. Vaughn A. Ary, class of 1984, Outstanding Business/Professional Award; Lee Haley, class of 1953, M.Ed. 1959, Outstanding Education Award; Mike McGinley, class of 1961, Outstanding Humanitarian Award; Larry D. Case, class of 1976, Outstanding Arts Award; and Christopher M. Feeney, class of 2007, Outstanding Recognition Award.

The Alumni Association established the Outstanding Graduates program in 1973 to pay tribute to alumni achievement. Beginning in 1977, awards were presented in specific fields: business/professional, education and humanitarian.

In 1984, the Recognition Award was added to honor someone who has made significant achievements within five years of graduation. This is the third year for a graduate in the arts field to be recognized.

The banquet in the Student Center Ballroom on the Alva campus is open to the public, but reservations are required by April 13. The cost is $15 per person. For more information or to make reservations, contact Lizabeth Richey, Northwestern Alumni Association director, at 580-327-8594 or lrrichey@nwosu.edu.
