  • Ranger Rodeo teams finish strong, Struxness wins National Championship in steer wrestling

    June 18, 2016 -- CASPER, Wyo. – Northwestern Oklahoma State University has finally crowned its first national champion in rodeo.Steer wrestler J.D. Struxness wrestled four steers in a cumulative time of 18.1 seconds to better the best field of bulldoggers in the country, claiming that elusive title during the weeklong College National Finals Rodeo in Casper.

    April 16, 2014 -- Sage Allen, an incoming freshman from Pawhuska, has signed to rodeo for the Northwestern Oklahoma State University Rodeo Team. Allen will compete as a breakaway roper for the Ranger Rodeo team in the fall.

  • Frascht resigns as rodeo coach

    Shannon Frascht, head rodeo coach at Northwestern Oklahoma State University, has submitted his resignation from the post. Frascht became coach of the University’s successful rodeo team in January 2011. He informed university officials that he will pursue opportunities in the private sector.

  • Nine Rangers headed to College National Finals Rodeo

    Nine members of the 2009-10 Northwestern Oklahoma State University rodeo team will represent the University at the 62nd Annual College National Finals Rodeo in Casper, Wyo. at the Casper Events Center on June 13-19. Five cowboys and four cowgirls will compete in seven different events.
