Malone crowned Miss Northwestern 2018; Seabolt takes home Outstanding Teen title

Miss Northwestern and Outstanding Teen Contestant Winners, Runner-Ups for 2018

Macie Malone of Valley Center, Kansas, was named Miss Northwestern Oklahoma State University 2018 during the annual Miss Northwestern Pageant on Sunday, Oct. 29. Carli Seabolt of Perry was crowned as Miss Northwestern’s Outstanding Teen 2018.

Malone, a senior biology major, performed the vocal solo with piano accompaniment “Only Hope,” and her platform is “From Pregnancy to Pap Smears: The Importance of Women’s Health.”

Seabolt performed the vocal solo “Reflections” for the pageant, and her platform is “Teens Beyond Tech.”

Malone will receive a $1,500 tuition scholarship and a cash scholarship as Miss Northwestern. When Seabolt attends college at Northwestern, she will receive a $1,500 tuition scholarship as well.

Addisyn Gordon of Alva, named Miss Northwestern’s Star 2018, will accompany Malone to the Miss Oklahoma Scholarship Pageant in Tulsa in June. Gordon is the daughter of Jessica and Ken Gordon of Alva.  

Miss Northwestern’s first runner-up is Shelbi Morland, sophomore mathematics major from Laverne. She will receive a $1,000 tuition scholarship and a cash scholarship.

Second runner-up is Katherine Blair, sophomore instrumental music major from Waynoka. She will receive a $1,000 tuition scholarship and a cash scholarship.

Each runner-up in the Teen category will receive a $250 tuition scholarship if they choose Northwestern as their university of choice for higher education. First runner-up for Miss Northwestern’s Outstanding Teen, Kaelin Clay of Idabel, will receive a $1,250 scholarship. Second runner-up is Jolee Guthrie Denton from Woodward, who will receive a $1,000 tuition scholarship. Third runner-up is Kate Barclay from Edmond, who will receive a $750 tuition scholarship. Fourth runner-up is Hayden Ralston of Stillwater, and winner of the teen category for People’s Choice Award, who will receive a $750 tuition scholarship.

Mandra Maxwell, sophomore biology major from Okmulgee, won the Miss Northwestern People’s Choice.

Contestants in both pageants were judged in talent, interview, lifestyle and fitness and onstage question categories. Each contestant in both the Miss and Teen categories will receive cash participation scholarship awards.

Shelby Bender, sophomore nursing major from Cherokee, also competed in the Miss Northwestern Pageant.

Taelyn Brown of Enid and Makenna Marchbanks of Blanchard, also were contestants in the teen contest.

Other contestants for the Miss Northwestern Star program included Sage Baird of Waynoka, Brileigh Duncan of Alva, Lillian Redinger of Alva, and Autumn McMahan of Cherokee.
