Benjamyn (Ben) Eastes, admissions counselor and recruiter for the Office of Recruitment at Northwestern Oklahoma State University, has been selected by the Staff Council as the recipient of the 2017 summer semester Campus Kudos Award.

Natalie Miller, assistant certification officer and Staff Council chair, and Melissa Brown, secretary of the Division of Education and Staff Council chair-elect, presented Eastes with the Campus Kudos award.

The person nominating Eastes for this award said, “As a recruiter, Ben puts in some odd hours outside of your normal 8-5 time period. With the budget cuts, recruiting is even more important than it has been in the past, and there is a lot of pressure to get students to come to school and to succeed. He also helps out with large events on campus such as Ranger Preview, PLC Interviews, Freshman Connection and Freshman Orientation. A lot of times the only familiar face an incoming freshman will have is from our recruiters, and they will go to them first if they need help. Ben is always willing to help anyone out who asks even if it doesn’t necessarily fall under his job. He’s always willing to listen and troubleshoot problems. Ben is a NWOSU graduate and participated on the golf team while he was going to school. He is a coworker I highly admire and respect.”

Campus Kudos is a public acknowledgement created by the Northwestern Staff Council that applauds the efforts of eligible staff members who have displayed an act of kindness above their job responsibilities. This award is presented at the end of each semester, including the summer term.
