Visiting poet Nathan Brown to present on campus, read poetry at Alva Public Library

Nathan Brown, Oklahoma’s poet laureate, is coming to Northwestern Oklahoma State University on Monday, April 22, for a workshop presentation and writer’s roundtable discussion.

The public is invited to attend all of Brown’s events.

From 10-11 a.m., Brown will present a workshop in the Alabaster Room of Vinson Hall. This presentation is available to Northwestern students.

At 3 p.m., Brown will lead a writer’s roundtable discussion in Vinson Hall, room 200.

The Alva Public Library, 504 7th St., is sponsoring Brown’s poetry reading from 7-9 p.m. There will be a Q-and-A session following the reading. Refreshments will be served, and autographed books will be available for purchase.

Brown has published eight books, most recently “Karma Crisis: New and Selected Poems.” His book “Two Tables Over” won the prestigious 2009 Oklahoma Book Award for Poetry given by Oklahoma Center for the Book.
