Northwestern Art Society offering gift item fundraiser

November 10, 2008

Believe it or not, the holidays are right around the corner, and there’s less than five weeks left in the fall semester, so the Northwestern Oklahoma State University Art Society (NAS) is offering a fundraiser to help take the stress out of locating the perfect holiday or graduation gift.

Members of NAS have available a 48-page brochure containing more than 200 gift and food items that could make gift-buying a lot easier. Besides the catalogs, an online store has been added making purchasing even easier.

Included in the unique selection are kitchen accessories, scented candles, holiday and all-occasion gift wrap, items for kids, “High School Musical” items, “Super Girl” and “Superman” items, spring flower bulbs, World’s Finest boxed chocolates, holiday decorations and more.

Also, more than 650 magazine titles can be ordered as new subscriptions, renewals or gifts directly from the online store, and more than 550 music CDs are available to choose from such categories as 50 and 60s, 70s, 80s, country, rock and pop, kids, gospel, Christian, holiday and more.

To visit the online store, go to www.qsp.com/store. At this page, click on the link "School/Organization Finder." Enter NWOSU in the school name area, and select Oklahoma in the drop down of states. After clicking on the Search button, click on the words NWOSU Art Society, then click on "Shop Now."

Items in the printed catalog range in price from $5 to $35 with more than 140 items listed at $12 or less, with many more available online.

“We thought by going with this fundraiser, it would bring different products to the community, while at the same time, help our organization to raise funds for our annual art show in April and for our members to take trips to various points of interest,” Angelia Case, NAS sponsor, said.

“Through this fundraiser, our organization will receive between 40 and 50 percent of the profit from total sales, so I hope everyone will consider making a purchase. We really appreciate the support.”

NAS will end its printed catalog sale Thursday, but purchasing from the online store will continue. Delivery of the catalog items is planned before the end of the fall semester, so products can be delivered before everyone leaves campus for the break. Anyone ordering items from the online store should expect them to be shipped directly to their addresses.

NAS club members have brochures, and the club also has a link to a PDF of the catalog on its web site at www.nwosu.edu/art. If anyone is interested in making a purchase after looking through the catalogs and prefers to do so in person rather than online, please contact Case at (580) 327-8577 or arcase@nwosu.edu so a club member can return the call. Chocolates and a few gift items are not available online.

Case also said the club is offering a number of Northwestern-related products at another online store. To see merchandise ranging from t-shirts, coffee mugs, mouse pads and coasters to note cards, posters, clocks and more, visit www.cafepress.com and enter NWOSU in the Search box.
