Michelle Williamson to speak during Fall Commencement on Dec. 8

Northwestern Oklahoma State University’s graduating students and their families will have the privilege to hear guest speaker Michelle Williamson, a 1988 graduate, during the Fall Commencement Ceremony set for Sunday, Dec. 8, at 4:30 p.m. in Percefull Fieldhouse.

Williamson graduated Summa Cum Laude from Northwestern with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting, and is currently serving as a vice president with MidFirst bank. 

Before joining MidFirst in 2003, Williamson previously worked for 12 years as the production branch manager at Mutual of Omaha’s Claims Processing Center.  Prior to that, she was a business manager for the state of Oklahoma, Department of Corrections. 

Williamson has strong roots in the Woodward area, having served as a City Commissioner for the City of Woodward for over 10 years. She is highly involved in the Woodward community as she serves as an elder for the First Christian Church in Woodward,  is a member of the Woodward Chamber of Commerce, the Woodward Industrial Foundation, the Woodward Rotary Club, and has served on the Health Services Foundation and the Woodward Education Foundation, to name a few.

In addition, she has served on the Northwestern Oklahoma State University Foundation and is active in the NWOSU Greater Woodward Alumni Task Force.

Williamson has been married for 25 years to Bruce Williamson.  They have three daughters:  Whitley, age 19; Amelia, age 15; and Gracen, age 14.
