ENID, Okla. – The Ranger basketball team escaped a one-point, 85-84 win in their season opener against No. 5 in NAIA Division II College of the Ozarks at the Mabee Center in Enid on Tuesday night.

The Northwestern Oklahoma State University Alumni Association will host a pre-game reception for all Tulsa area alumni and friends when Northwestern visits the Oral Roberts University Golden Eagles on Monday, November 16, 2009. The reception will be held in the Falls Lounge inside the Hilton Tulsa Southern Hills.

Oklahoma Baptist University is the solid preseason favorite to win the Sooner Athletic Conference, according to the SAC Men's Preseason Coaches' Poll released Tuesday. Northwestern is picked to finish fourth in the poll.
