February 7, 2013 --A free seminar on leadership traits of successful entrepreneurs will originate from Northwestern Oklahoma State University-Enid on Thursday, Feb. 14, from noon-8 p.m., and on Friday, Feb. 15, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Diverse entrepreneur and leadership experts will be speaking from Northwestern-Enid, located at 2929 E. Randolph, room 218, over the course of the two-day seminar.

August 31, 2012 -- The commitment of the Enid community and civic leaders to Northwestern Oklahoma State University through the Endowed Faculty Chair Program will be celebrated during a public ceremony on Tuesday, Sept. 11, at the school’s Enid Campus.

February 10, 2012 -- Retired Army Gen. Tommy Franks will be the headline speaker at a free entrepreneurship seminar at Northwestern Oklahoma State University’s Enid campus on Feb. 16-17.

January 12, 2012 -- A one-hour humanities credit is being offered at Northwestern Oklahoma State University as part of the Winter Chautauqua on Saturday, Jan. 21, at the Enid campus. By enrolling in HUM 4480, Margaret Mitchell, individuals can learn about the life of Mitchell as told by Debra Conner.

September 30, 2011 - Two Northwestern Oklahoma State University-Enid staff members recently participated in the Warrior Dash in Tulsa. Stephanie Widick, registration office assistant, and Dena Horton, business assistant, competed in the extreme marathon wearing red and black Northwestern tutus.

A veteran psychology professor at Northwestern Oklahoma State University has been selected as the new dean of the school’s Enid Campus.

Social work students from Northwestern Oklahoma State University and area social work professionals will have the opportunity to hear James Marks, executive director of the Oklahoma State Board of Licensed Social Workers, speak on Monday, April 18, from 5 to 6:30 p.m., at Northwestern-Enid at 2929 E. Randolph Ave., room 210.

Northwestern Oklahoma State University’s Concert and Symphonic Bands will combine forces to perform four band pieces on Sunday, March 6, at 3 p.m. in the Northwestern-Enid Commons Area.

Citizens of northwest Oklahoma will have an opportunity to participate in a two-day seminar titled, The Entrepreneurial Spirit . . . The Energy behind Enterprising Societies, on Feb. 17-18, at Northwestern Oklahoma State University-Enid. This seminar will focus on the importance of entrepreneurs in successful societies.

With the decline in donations due to recent winter weather, the Oklahoma Blood Institute (OBI) has declared a blood emergency with less than a one-day supply. Northwestern Oklahoma State University wants to help OBI with the blood shortage and encourages all healthy donors to give blood at Northwestern-Woodward on Wednesday, Feb. 9, and Thursday, Feb.10, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Nationally known Chautauqua scholar Karen Vuranch of West Virginia will perform “Pearl S. Buck: A Good Life” as part of the Winter Chautauqua presented at Northwestern Oklahoma State University on Saturday, Jan. 22, at 7 p.m., in the commons area at the Enid campus, 2929 E. Randolph.

The Greater Enid NWOSU Alumni Task Force is seeking food and food-related vendors to participate in “A Taste of Northwestern Oklahoma” on Tuesday Nov. 30 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Nursing students from Northwestern Oklahoma State University and professionals from northwest Oklahoma will be inducted into the Northwest Oklahoma Honor Society of Nursing on Thursday, Oct. 28, at 7 p.m. in Herod Hall Auditorium. Guest speaker Dr. Katherine W. Vestal, president of Work Innovations, LLC, will speak about the importance of preparation for what is to come in health care.

More students are enrolling in summer semester courses at Northwestern Oklahoma State University.

Students majoring in human resources at Northwestern Oklahoma State University are urged to apply for a scholarship from the Enid chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management scholarship (SHRM). Entry deadline is June 30.

Educators have a short time left to enroll in Northwestern Oklahoma State University’s three-credit graduate summer session course “Leadership Across the Curriculum,” and to apply for the 2010 Academy for Educational Excellence, a program of the Cherokee Strip Regional Heritage Center Leadership Institute.

Northwestern Oklahoma State University’s Enid campus will be represented at the 2010 March of Dimes by the student organization Phi Beta Lambda (PBL). The 2010 March of Dimes will begin at 10 a.m., Saturday, April 24, in downtown Enid.

On Tuesday, April 6, Northwestern Oklahoma State University will take on East Central University in a nine-inning baseball matchup at David Allen Memorial Ballpark in Enid. The 2010 Ranger team includes Enid High School graduates junior Clint Dodds and junior Richard Burdick.

Northwestern Oklahoma State University is partnering with the Harold Hamm Oklahoma Diabetes Center at the University of Oklahoma for “Know Your Diabetes Risk,” on Saturday, March 27, from 9 a.m. to noon.  This free research opportunity will be held at the Northwestern-Enid campus, 2929 E. Randolph.

Northwestern Oklahoma State University-Enid, 2929 E. Randolph, will welcome Rich Taylor to campus at 7 p.m., on Wednesday, Jan. 27. Taylor will speak about leadership and show a DVD to the Greater Enid Young Professionals and to the newly formed Enid Marketing Professionals about leadership. The event will be held in the Commons area.

“Machiavelli’s The Prince” will be presented by Dr. Rufus Fears, professor of classics at the University of Oklahoma, on Monday, Jan. 25, at 7 p.m., in Montgomery Hall at Northern Oklahoma College-Enid. This lecture series is offered through a partnership between Northwestern Oklahoma State University and several other entities.
