Dr. Sarah Chan, Lecture, 'Why Invest in Music and Art: Key Historic Moments; Case Study - NW OK

Dr. Sarah Chan will lecture on "Why Invest in Music and Art:   Key Moments of Historical Impact in Western Civilization and a Modern Case Study in Northwestern Oklahoma Region" at the MBAA International Conference in Chicago.  The lecture will begin with a focus on key moments in Western history where the arts have significantly influenced and interacted with social, cultural, educational, economic, and political movements to affect Western civilization.  It will culminate with a case study on arts investment in present-day northwestern Oklahoma, in conjunction with the 2013 MBAA International Conference theme,  "Relevant and Innovative:  Advancing Thoughts, Theories, and Practice in Business Disciplines" under the sector of Business, Government, and Society.  The presentation is a joint project with Dr. Wei Zhou, Assistant Professor of Business at Northwestern Oklahoma State University.
