SHAWNEE, Okla. (9-26-11) – Northwestern Oklahoma State University’s Taylor Marsh received an honor by the Sooner Athletic Conference on Monday as the women’s soccer offensive player of the week for Sept. 19-24.
Marsh, a junior from Mansfield, Texas, had two goals during the period, including a game winning header at Sterling College (Kan.) in double-overtime. The Rangers defeated NCAA Div. II member East Central earlier in the week, 2-0.
The Rangers have started the season with a 4-2 record overall, with Marsh recording the game winning goal in all four contests. She leads the nation in percentage of game winners and is second in total game winners.
Marsh has a total of five goals on the season.
Northwestern hosts Southwestern Oklahoma State this evening at 6 p.m. at the Alva Recreation Complex and begin Sooner Athletic Conference play on Thursday (Sept. 29) at Southern Nazarene. Thursday’s contest is set to begin at 5 p.m. in Bethany, Okla.
