ALVA, Okla. - The Northwestern Oklahoma State women's basketball team struggled in a 72-52 loss against No. 7 Lubbock Christian on Thursday evening.
It was evident early that it wasn't the Lady Rangers (10-9, 7-8 Sooner Athletic Conference) day as the squad turned the ball over 14 times in the first half allowing the Lady Chaparrals to take a 36-20 lead going in to the break.
Audrey Richmond was a bright spot in the first half scoring eight points. She finished with a team-high 14. LaParis Newsom had 12 to round out the double-digit scorers for the Lady Rangers. Ronita Coleman was the team's leading rebounder with six.
Autumn Klugh scored five points in the game and needs 58 to join the 1000 Point Club at NWOSU.
The Lady Rangers will get a chance to turn it around quickly as Wayland Baptist comes to town for a Saturday afternoon game set for a 1 p.m. tip.
