GUYMON, Okla. – The Lady Ranger golf team finished their fall season with a 13 stroke lead at the Oklahoma Panhandle State University Fall Invitational played at Sunset Hills in Guymon on Tuesday, Oct. 7, while Linda Ladd took home the medalist honors.
Northwestern shot a collective total of 734, 13 stokes ahead of second place Oklahoma Panhandle State, who shot a 747. Dodge City Community College came in third with a 797 and Colby Community College rounded out the teams with an 876.
Ladd took the medalist honors with an 86 on Monday and four-stroke improvement on Tuesday’s 82 to shoot 168 for the tournament. Northwestern’s Cari Hall finished second as she was five strokes behind Ladd with a 95-78—173. Hall’s 78 was the low round for the tourney. Emily Beard took 11th out of the field of 26 golfers with a 99-97—196 and Meghan Carey followed, tied for 12th with a 104-93—197.
The women’s team will be idle until play resumes during the spring semester.
