Later this month, Northwestern Oklahoma State University senior Lacey Vaughan will be recognized as an Undergraduate Student of the Year by the National Association of Social Workers, Oklahoma (NASW-OK).

The Department of Social Work at Northwestern Oklahoma State University is pleased to announce that Lacey Vaughan was named a 2013 National Association of Social Workers, Oklahoma (NASW-OK) Undergraduate Student of the Year.

“We are incredibly proud of her and delighted she is being honored in such a distinguished way,” said Kylene Rehder, social work department chair.

The Lamont native will be presented the award on March 25, at the 37th NASW-OK Annual State Conference at the University of Oklahoma College of Continuing Education in Norman.

“I am extremely honored and excited to receive this award,” Vaughan said.

“It is my privilege to represent Northwestern and its Department of Social Work.”

Vaughan is currently completing a practicum with the Woodward County Department of Human Services in the Woodward Public Schools. She will be graduating in May and plans to attend graduate school in the future to obtain her Master’s of Social Work degree.
