Dr. Rehder is the Department Chair, Associate Professor of Social Work, and the Director of the Social Work Program at Northwestern Oklahoma State University. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from NWOSU, a Master’s of Social Work (MSW) degree from the University of Oklahoma, and a doctorate from Northcentral University. Dr. Rehder is also a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and board approved supervisor with the Oklahoma State Board of Licensed Social Workers. Her areas of research and practice are in child abuse and neglect, trauma/disaster and mental health, and the use of technology in social work education and practice.
She is an active member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) and currently serves on the steering committee for the Social Work Public Education Campaign. She is active on the macro-level of practice and works on policy and legislative issues associated with the social work profession; and serves as a board member for the Child Welfare Professional Enhancement Program (CWPEP) which works to strengthen child welfare services in Oklahoma.
Dr. Rehder is a clinical consultant to many local agencies and a member of the Oklahoma Medical Reserve Corps (OKMRC) where she serves as a disaster mental health expert. She is the Jake and Jayne Lindsay Endowed Chair in Social Work, the 2012 recipient of Northwestern’s Distinguished Service Award, and the 2013 recipient of the John Barton Distinguished Teaching and Service Award.
