Assistant Head Coach/Recruiting Coordinator/Offensive Line Coach
Kevin Turco enters his first season at Northwestern State Oklahoma University. He will serve as the Assistant Head Coach, Recruiting Coordinator, and Offensive Line Coach. Prior to his appointment with the Ranger Football program, he served as an assistant football coach at six universities and three high schools.
While leading the offensive line at Newberry College from 2007 through 2010, he coached numerous All-conference recipients and two All-Americans. He was also a member of two South Atlantic Conference Championships and a trip to the second round of the NCAA Division II national tournament while at Newberry College.
In 2005, Coach Turco served as the offensive graduate assistant coach under Head Coach Skip Holtz at East Carolina University and worked with the Pirates offensive line.
In 2004, Turco assisted the Gamecocks quarterbacks and special teams as a graduate assistant coach at the University of South Carolina under the legendary Lou Holtz.
He began his collegiate coaching career at his alma mater, Western New England College in Springfield, Mass., with defensive line responsibilities. He held the same position at the University of St. Mary (Kansas) and at St. Peter’s College (New Jersey).
Coach Turco also served in the United States Marine Corps and was honorably discharged after spending his career in an infantry unit. Coach Turco holds a Bachelor’s in History from Western New England University where he played football for the Golden Bears.
He also earned a Master’s of Art in Education Degree from the University of Saint Mary. Coach Turco and his wife Melissa live in Alva and attend Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
