EDMOND, Okla. (9-20-11) – Northwestern Oklahoma State University kick returner Chris Jones received recognition for his efforts over the weekend, being named Central States Football League Special Teams Player of the Week.
In the Rangers loss to No. 23 University of South Dakota, a member of the NCAA FCS, 48-10, Jones had five kick returns for 91 yards, with a long of 38-yards.
Jones, a native of San Jose, Calif., is currently leading the team in kick returns with 184 total yards, ranking him No. 21 in the NAIA, and has a punt return of 16 yards.
The Rangers (0-3) kick off CSFL play on the road this Saturday as they take on Texas College at 2 p.m. in Tyler, Texas.
