April 22, 2013 -- “Echoes of Peace” is the theme for the Northwestern Oklahoma State University choirs performance on Monday, April 29, at the First Baptist Church in Alva. The performance will begin at 7:30 p.m. at 714 College Ave.

April 12, 2013 -- Twenty-four Northwestern Oklahoma State University students recently embarked on a singing tour landing in China for eight-days. The University Singers experienced the Chinese way of life and returned home with a sense of pride for their university and community.

April 4, 2013 -- Dr. Sarah Chan, assistant professor of music at Northwestern Oklahoma State University, will speak on “Songs of the American West Frontier and Settlement: Music of the Pioneers, Soldiers, Railroaders, Miners, Cowboys, Ranchers, and Homesteaders,” at the Sod House Museum near Cleo Springs on Saturday, April 20, at 10 a.m.

March 8, 2013 -- For Joan Talley Fisher, music was not just a hobby but a vocation that she pursued from a very early age. Beginning with piano and clarinet lessons, Fisher’s skills grew and she was able to help finance her college education by giving piano lessons.

April 17, 2012 -- Musical talent from Northwestern Oklahoma State University’s Concert Choir, University Singers and University Chorale will perform an “Americana Concert” at the First Baptist Church, located at 714 College Ave., in Alva on Monday, April 23, at 7:30 p.m. This event is free and open to the public.

November 29, 2011 - On Tuesday, Nov. 29, at 7:30 p.m., the Northwestern Oklahoma State University Chorale and Singers will perform a Holiday Concert, conducted by Dr. Irene Messoloras, assistant professor of music and chair of Fine Arts. This concert will take place at the First United Methodist Church, located at 626 College in Alva.

The Northwestern Oklahoma State University Jazz Ensemble is scheduled to entertain at Applebee's restaurant in Enid on April 22 in what the group hopes will become a monthly gig. The Jazz Ensemble will perform at “Northwestern Night at Applebee’s” from 8 to 10 p.m. as a fundraiser for scholarships in Northwestern’s music program.
