Jaunita Noble, Director
It has been more than 25 years since Jaunita (Bixler) Noble lived in Alva and Waynoka, but she is glad to be back home in northwest Oklahoma. Jaunita graduated from Waynoka High School in the 1980s, where she holds the track and field records in the 100 meter dash and the 800 meter relay. Jaunita is a first-generation college graduate who attended Garden City Community College and Newman University in Kansas. Upon completion of her undergraduate degree, Jaunita taught fifth grade in Holcomb, Kansas.
After several years of living on cattle and horse ranches in Oklahoma and Kansas, Jaunita decided to take a job near the Rocky Mountains. Jaunita began working as the director of the tutoring department at Metropolitan State College near downtown Denver. This was a great experience, because it allowed Jaunita the opportunity to make friends with people from other parts of the world.
On November 1, 2007, Jaunita moved from Denver to work as the new project director for Regular Upward Bound and the Upward Bound Math and Science programs at Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva. Jaunita is no stranger to small town life and appreciates all the friendly people that make up the community.
Jaunita completed her master’s degree in Adult Education Management and Administration at NWOSU. Northwestern has a great program that prepares professionals to understand the infrastructure of a higher educational system. The program also provides the skills necessary to operate and manage a project within a higher educational setting.
On weekends, Jaunita enjoys spending time with her family and husband Greg. Jaunita and Greg enjoy watching movies, sports and listening to music.
