  • Northwestern to play host to series of community reads in March, April over 'Faye Longchamp' series

    February 27, 2017 – Northwestern Oklahoma State University’s Department of English, Foreign Language and Humanities is organizing a series of “Community Reads” throughout the months of March and April to celebrate the visit of the spring 2017 Visiting Writer Mary Anna Evans on April 12-13.

  • English Program to Sponsor Creative Reading Series

    January 29, 2015 -- The Northwestern Oklahoma State University English program is sponsoring a Creative Reading Night once a month for a four-month series. The event will take place at the Graceful Arts Gallery and Studios (523 Barnes in Alva) and is free and open to the public.

  • Inspired alumnus endows language arts scholarship

    April 29, 2013 -- It is on rare occasions that special people come into others’ lives for just a fleeting moment and profoundly inspire them to make a difference. That is exactly the effect that Judith “Judy” Jenlink had on David Bradley, a Northwestern Oklahoma State University alumnus and former faculty member from Stillwater. In fact, Jenlink, who passed away in February 2012, so inspired Bradley that he established the Judy Jenlink Language Arts Scholarship at Northwestern to honor her memory.

  • Visiting Writers' Series to feature Abigail Keegan

    March 15, 2012 -- As the second speaker in the Visiting Writers Series sponsored by the English, Foreign Language, and Humanities Department at Northwestern Oklahoma State University, Abigail Keegan will read poetry on Thursday, March 29, at 7 p.m. Held in the J.W. Martin Library, Keegan also will have copies of her latest book,“Depending on the Weather,” available for purchase and signing at the reading.

  • English alumni, friends invited to return for reunion

    Members of the English Department at Northwestern Oklahoma State University are planning their first English Department alumni reunion. Two events for alumni and friends have been planned during Northwestern’s homecoming Oct. 24.
  • Five inducted into Northwestern English honor society

    Five Northwestern Oklahoma State University students recently were inducted into the Sigma Delta Tau English honor society. Tara Woodmansee, Alva junior; Carissa Meade, Ringwood junior; Hilario Trejo-Leal, Mexico City, Mexico, senior; Angela Luthye, Enid senior; and Lisa England, Buffalo sophomore, are now members of this organization.
  • Northwestern Sigma Tau Delta students attend conference in Minneapolis

    Three students involved in the education department at Northwestern Oklahoma State University attended the annual International Sigma Tau Delta conference in Minneapolis, Minn., in March. Attendees were Vanna Fuqua, Seiling senior; Alyssa Logsdon, Alva senior; and Anika Rohla, Chester senior.
