John K. Cox
John K. Cox is professor and department head of history at North Dakota State University in Fargo. He received his undergraduate degree from Guilford College in Greensboro, NC, and his doctorate from Indiana University in Bloomington. Cox is the author of The History of Serbia and Slovenia: Evolving Loyalties. He has published translations of novels by Danilo Kis and Ivan Cankar and of essays and stories by a wide range of Central European and Balkan writers. He is currently writing a study of the fiction of the Albanian intellectual Ismail Kadare, as well as a history of modern Croatia. Cox taught European history for 13 years at Wheeling Jesuit University near Pittsburgh.
