Students majoring in human resources at Northwestern Oklahoma State University are urged to apply for a scholarship from the Enid chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management scholarship (SHRM). Entry deadline is June 30.
This scholarship will provide financial support to individuals who are going into the business field. Human resource majors are preferred.
A college scholarship in the amount of $500 and an HR Fundamentals Course Scholarship for $150 will be awarded. In addition, the chapter will provide selected students with professional support and resources through the chapter membership.
The college scholarship will be awarded and paid at the beginning of the fall semester to the college of each recipient. Selected individuals must provide a copy of their current enrollment and cost to the education committee at the beginning of the fall semester.
The HR Fundamentals Course Scholarship will be awarded and used to pay the recipient’s enrollment fee at Autry Technology Center. Verification of enrollment will be required.
Selected individuals must provide a copy of their current enrollment and cost to the SHRM education committee at the beginning of the fall semester.
All scholarships will be awarded based on the following criteria:
• Career orientation
• Academic excellence
• Contribution/involvement in career field of study
• Community involvement
• Achievements and awards
Applications must be submitted to the SHRM Enid Chapter no later than June 30 of the scholarship year. The Education Committee will review the applications and schedule interviews by July 15. The award letters will be mailed by July 30. Former recipients may submit an application.
