Homecoming Buttons

The vast majority of the expense of Homecoming activities is financed through the sale of Homecoming buttons. The colorful buttons feature the current theme each year and sell for $10--a real bargain since the buttons are good for admission to the Miss Cinderella Talent show, Miss Cinderella Coronation and the football game—a $22 value. Individual tickets are $8 each for the Miss Cinderella events and $6 for the football game.

Monica Schmidt is the general button sales manager and recruits a team of 25 community volunteers to sell the buttons in Alva and surrounding communities.  As Monica says, "Many businesses buy Homecoming buttons as a donation and give them to their employees. Button sales for 2007 will kickoff Sept. 18.
