Graduate Portfolio

"LiveText Graduate Portfolio Training" sessions will be available at each NWOSU campus and at the Ponca City University Center. Please watch for a schedule of sessions (see 'Announcements') . Student sessions will address construction/template issues; faculty sessions will address portfolio assessment procedures.

These sessions will be "hands on" training, using student portfolios that are in various stages of development. Faculty advisory committee members are required to complete an assessment of their advisees' portfolios at Milestones 1, 2 and 3.

WHO is required to submit a graduate portfolio?

Master of Education students who applied for graduate study AFTER January 1, 2003, are required to submit a graduate portfolio in lieu of taking the written comprehensive examination and the oral follow-up exam.

Master of Counseling Psychology students are required to take the final comprehensive examination and the oral follow-up exam in lieu of the portfolio.

WHAT is required for 'Milestone' assessments?

  • Milestones 1 & 2: "provides a record of professional growth and development over time."

  • Milestone 3: "a 'best work' portfolio, illustrating the candidate's exemplary performance."
