SPRING COMMENCEMENT INFORMATION DURING INCLEMENT WEATHER

CEREMONY: Northwestern’s spring commencement ceremony will be conducted on the same scheduled date at 10:30 a.m., only it is moved from Ranger Field to Percefull Fieldhouse in Alva. The Fieldhouse is located on the east side of campus. Graduates are asked to meet in the Small Gym of the Health and Sports Science Education Building by 9:45 a.m. for instructions concerning the ceremony.

Because of the limited seating capacity of Percefull Fieldhouse, all graduates have been issued six tickets for family and friends. Admission to Percefull Fieldhouse will be by ticket only. Doors to Percefull Fieldhouse will open at 9 a.m. We ask you to encourage your guests to arrive no later than 10 a.m.

Each person who occupies a seat, including infants and children, will be required to present a ticket. Beginning at 10:15 a.m., any remaining seating will be made available to non-ticketed guests, although ticket holders will continue to receive priority.

Any guests who may not be able to secure a seat in Percefull Fieldhouse will be invited to watch the ceremony through closed-circuit television in Herod Hall Auditorium. NWTV, cable channel 7, also will provide television coverage of the event to cable subscribers in Alva.

PARKING: There is limited dedicated parking just east of Percefull Fieldhouse, including many reserved spaces for those having a valid state-issued handicapped parking permits. All other campus parking lots will be available for commencement.

ACCESSIBILITY: Handicapped accessible parking is available on the east side of Percefull Fieldhouse. A valid state-issued handicapped parking permit is required. Other parking lots have limited handicapped parking. A ramp is available on the north side of Percefull Fieldhouse for persons unable to negotiate stairs.

RECEPTION: A reception honoring graduates and their families will begin immediately following the ceremony in the Ballroom of the Student Center. The Ballroom is on the second floor of the building and is serviced by stairs and an elevator.

PHOTOGRAPHS: Each graduate will be provided with a complimentary photograph of their diploma presentation. Families will be allowed to take photographs, but must stay in the designated photo area on the west end of the stage area and stay clear of official university photographers. Space in the designated photo area is very limited.
