Upward Bound to take donations for Freedom Boxes

February 6, 2009

Upward Bound at Northwestern Oklahoma State University is teaming up with Oklahoma Blue Star Mothers to create “Freedom Boxes” and write letters to military personnel. The group is taking donations in the form of eye wash, hand sanitizer, deodorant, sunscreen, chap stick, foot powder, etc.

All items must be donated by Feb. 24.

Donations can be dropped off at the Northwestern-Alva campus in the Upward Bound office in room 113 in Jesse Dunn Hall, Herod Hall or the Fine Art Building. Freedom Bank also will take donations.

The group will deliver the items to Oklahoma City as part of its trip to the capitol for TRIO Day on Feb. 25.

Visit http://www.okbluestarmothers.org/freedomboxes.htm for a complete listing of donation items.
