Free diabetes testing research to be held at Northwestern-Enid

Know Your Diabetes Risk poster            Northwestern Oklahoma State University is partnering with the Harold Hamm Oklahoma Diabetes Center at the University of Oklahoma for “Know Your Diabetes Risk,” on Saturday, March 27, from 9 a.m. to noon.  This free research opportunity will be held at the Northwestern-Enid campus, 2929 E. Randolph.

            Individuals interested in participating in this research opportunity should arrive with an empty stomach by having nothing to eat or drink with calories after midnight.  Participants also must meet the following requirements to be a part of the research:

-         18 to 40 years of age; 
-         Not previously diagnosed with diabetes; 
-         Willing to sign a consent form; 
-         Receive blood pressure and finger-stick test results including: lipids, blood glucose, and hemoglobin A1c.

          Health screenings, including finger stick blood glucose checks and blood pressure checks will be available for any individual.
