    May 9, 2017 – Charles and Clara Jackson, Coppell, Texas, established the Clara Haack R.N. Scholarship at Northwestern Oklahoma State University to provide financial assistance to students pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing. Charles also established this scholarship to honor his wife and her career.

    March 21, 2017 – Gary Adams, owner and operator of Alva’s Sonic Drive-In, continues to support education with the Alva Sonic Scholarship. Adams recently presented a $5,000 gift to the Northwestern Foundation & Alumni Association for the benefit of Northwestern students. This donation is made possible by Alva’s Sonic Drive-in, Gary Adams and the Marvin and Barbara Jirous Foundation.

    March 9, 2017 – The Enid Friends of Psychology Scholarship has been established by the Enid Psychology Club at Northwestern Oklahoma State University to provide financial assistance to Enid-area undergraduate psychology students.

    February 23, 2017 – Bill and Linda Beeler established the Beeler-Stites Family Scholarship to honor their family lineage at Northwestern and to continue their support of the Alva community and university students.

  • Tuckers establish lectureship for Northwestern computer science department

    February 21, 2017 – Dr. Charles Tucker, long-time dentist in Alva, Okla., and his wife, Jane, established the Dr. Charles and Jane Tucker Computer Science Lectureship at Northwestern Oklahoma State University. This lectureship will support the computer science faculty, staff and students by providing funding for travel and training.

    February 13, 2017 – The Northwestern Foundation & Alumni Association continued the annual tradition of encouraging the Alva community to invest in the students of Northwestern Oklahoma State University by kicking off the Scholarship Drive on Wednesday, February 8.

  • Northwestern Foundation raises more than $26,000 in online Giving Tuesday campaign

    December 20, 2016 – ‘Tis the season of giving for the Northwestern Oklahoma State University community. For the second consecutive year, the Northwestern Foundation & Alumni Association participated in the global online Giving Tuesday campaign to raise funds for student scholarships through its annual giving program, RISE (Rangers Investing in Students & Education). More than $26,000 was raised between Nov. 29 and Dec. 16.

  • Communication lectureship established to honor John and Margaret Barton

    December 1, 2016 – The Barton name is a familiar one around Alva and Northwestern Oklahoma State University. From 1966-1995, John Barton shaped the minds of young men and women in the university’s speech department. In honor of the impact he and his wife, Margaret, made at Northwestern, their daughter Cheryl (Barton) Listen, with her husband Herb Listen, established the John and Margaret Barton Communication Lectureship for Academic Enrichment to provide additional funds for Communication faculty and staff development.

    November 7, 2016 – Northwestern Oklahoma State University alumni and other friends soon will be contacted and asked for updates for the new “Northwestern Alumni and Other Friends Directory”, due for distribution in November 2017.The Northwestern Foundation & Alumni Association has partnered again with PCI (also known as Publishing Concepts) to produce an updated directory.

    October 19, 2016 – While some things may change, education remains a constant theme in the lives of Dr. Deena Fisher, Dean for Northwestern’s Woodward campus, and Tom Fisher, former Assistant Superintendent of Woodward Public Schools. The passion the couple has for their profession has led them to establish the Dr. Deena and Tom Fisher Scholarship at Northwestern Oklahoma State University to support students pursuing a degree in education.

    June 5, 2012  -- Loyd Stout (left) and Skeeter Bird, Northwestern Foundation CEO, complete plans for the Loyd Stout Baseball Scholarship at Northwestern Oklahoma State University.Northwestern Oklahoma State University students will once again benefit from the support of Loyd Stout, a former Northwestern baseball, basketball and football standout. Stout endowed the Loyd Stout Baseball Scholarship, which will provide financial assistance to Northwestern continuing students on the baseball team.

  • Northwestern Foundation Annual meeting Sept. 11

    The Northwestern Oklahoma State University Foundation will hold its Annual Meeting on Friday, September 11 at 4:00 p.m. It will be held in the Student Center Ranger Room of Northwestern’s Alva campus followed by a reception upstairs in the Student Center Ballroom. The Foundation is celebrating 50 years of providing scholarships to Northwestern students and assistance to the university.
