    BUS TRIP PLANNED FOR 1st ROUND PLAYOFF GAME AND LADY RANGER BASKETBALL GAMEAlva, Okla. (Nov. 17, 2008) – The Northwestern Oklahoma State University Alumni Association is taking reservations from Ranger football and basketball fans to ride a chartered bus to the Saturday, Nov. 22 first round playoff game and Lady Ranger basketball game in Wichita, Kan.

    There are 55 seats available and the cost will be $32. Please call (580) 327-8593 or email nwalumni@nwosu.edu to reserve a seat by 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 20.

    TICKETS AVAILABLE WEDNESDAY FOR FOOTBALL PLAYOFF GAME Tickets for Northwestern Oklahoma State University’s first round NAIA Playoff game against Friends University can be purchased beginning Wednesday, Nov. 19.

    Tickets can be purchased in advance on Wednesday, Nov. 19 and Thursday, Nov. 20 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Friday, Nov. 20 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. by phone at (316) 295-5752 or in person at Sumpter Hall on the Friends University campus. Advance tickets are $5 for adults and $4 for students/children. Tickets can also be purchased on game day at the gate for $10 for all ages.

    JACKSON AND MATHERS NAMED FINAL CSFL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK Northwestern Oklahoma State running back Jared Jackson and defensive end Lantz Mathers were honored by the Central States Football League in the final season report as Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively, after NWOSU’s 58-27 victory over Texas College.

    NORTHWESTERN FOOTBALL TO PLAY FRIENDS IN FIRST ROUND OF NAIA PLAYOFFSThe No. 10 ranked Northwestern Oklahoma State University football team will return to the NAIA Playoffs for the second consecutive season under head coach Keith Barefield, as the Rangers drew fifth ranked Friends University of Wichita, Kan. for the first round of the NAIA Playoffs. Kickoff is set for 1:30 at Adair Austin Stadium in Wichita.

Dallas Cowboy and Former Ranger - Patrick Crayton

Crayton, a four-time all-conference selection while at Northwestern, was a punt returner, kickoff returner, quarterback and wide receiver. Drafted by the Dallas Cowboys as a seventh-round pick (216th selection) in the 2003 NFL Draft, Patrick was an immediate impact as a wide receiver and punt returner. After three seasons with the Cowboys, he has recorded 70 receptions for 1,019 yards and scored seven touchdowns. He averages 14.6 yards per catch. Crayton has also returned 38 punts for 285 total yards.

Lynn Scott

Scott, a four-time NAIA All-American at Northwestern, ended his four-year career with 298 tackles and holds the record for most punt return yards in a season and career. After being picked up by the Dallas Cowboys in 2001 as a free agent, Scott played five seasons as a safety and on special teams. During his tenure at Dallas, he played in 66 games, garnering 44 solo tackles and eight assists. Scott also had seven pass defenses, a sack and an interception.

 

 

Northwestern Oklahoma State University has a great tradition in its football program. As a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the Central States Football League (CSFL), Northwestern competes annually on a national scale and is one of the premier small college programs in the country.
