Vocal Ensembles

The Concert Choir is an 80-voice mixed ensemble comprised of Northwestern students, faculty, staff, and community members. The choir performs a variety of sacred and secular repertoire from the Baroque to Modern historical periods with a focus on music from diverse cultures. Choral literature includes major choral-orchestral works and repertoire for men's and women's chorus.

Concert Choir is a non-auditioned choral ensemble that meets on Monday evenings from 6:45pm-8:45pm in the Fine Arts Building room 200.

The University Chorale is a select, mixed ensemble of 48-voices. The ensemble performs a wide variety of sacred and secular repertoire from the Renaissance to Modern historical periods and from diverse cultures. Choral literature includes unaccompanied works as well as works with professional instrumental ensembles.

The University Choir performs for audiences throughout the South West. Concert traditions include the Holiday Spectacular Concerts, and spring masterworks concerts.

Membership is by audition only, and is open to all Northwestern students, regardless of major or class standing.

The University Singers
is the premier choral ensemble at Northwestern Oklahoma State University. Specializing in music from the Renaissance to Contemporary periods, the 24-voice NWOSU University Singers are noted for their excellence in the choral art. As the university’s main touring ensemble, the University Singers will perform in Shanghai and Beijing on a nine-day performance tour in Spring 2013.

Membership is by audition only, and is open to all Northwestern students, regardless of major or class standing.

Instrumental Ensembles

The Ranger Marching Band combines contemporary show design with a wide variety of musical styles, from the classics to jazz and popular music. "The Spirit of Northwest Oklahoma" performs for all home football games and has appeared at Kansas City Chiefs games and at parades in the United States and Canada.

The Symphonic Band performs at least three on-campus concerts each spring, consisting of standard wind literature and contemporary works for band. The band has performed in San Antonio and Dallas, Texas, and in Kansas City, Missouri.

The Northwestern Jazz Ensemble has attained local and regional recognition for its performances. The ensemble performs for various campus events throughout the year and has appeared at the prestigious Wichita Jazz Festival.
