Approximately 100 eighth graders from Alva and Fairview were on the Northwestern Oklahoma State University-Alva campus recently for Education 102, a program designed to give students an idea of what career choices are available at the college level.
Led by student members of Leadership Northwestern, the eighth grade students took a tour of campus and met current Northwestern students and faculty from various academic departments. The students learned more about the importance of higher education and the programs available at Northwestern.
As part of Education 102, students also are exposed to career options through the Northwest Technology Center.
