Linebackers/Strength and Conditioning
Dwyane Curry enters his first season as the linebackers coach and strength and conditioning coach at Northwestern Oklahoma State University. He coached defensive line at Garden City Community College (2011-2012). Previous to that, he coached linebackers and was the co-defensive coordinator at Savannah State (2010-2011). He coached defensive line and was a physical education instructor at Hinds Community College (2009-2010).
Before working at Hinds, Curry was the defensive line coach and summer camps coordinator at Birmingham Southern College (2008-09). He was the defensive line and special teams coach at East Mississippi Community College from 2007-08. He got his start in the college ranks at East Texas Baptist in Marshall, Texas (2006-07) as a linebackers coach.
Curry started his coaching career as co-defensive coordinator and linebackers coach at Southside High School in Atlanta, Ga., (1999-2001). Curry moved on to be the co-defensive coordinator and defensive line coach at Pensacola High School in Pensacola, Fla., from 2004-06.
Curry was an outstanding linebacker for Mississippi State University from 1993-1996. During his time at Mississippi State he was a candidate for the Butkus award three times. He was also selected as an All-SEC linebacker three times as well as being selected to the All-SEC freshman team. He is a 1997 graduate of Mississippi State University with a degree in physical education and fitness management.
