Dr. Young received a doctorate from Oklahoma State University—Curriculum & Instruction in Elementary Education/Mathematics Education. She holds a Masters of Education from Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Special Education/Reading Specialist and a Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education, also from Northwestern. She has taught preschool ages through adult in many capacities and has held several diverse positions including classroom teacher, learning lab specialist, Federal Programs director, Special Education director, Consultant, and Advisor. Dr. Young is certified by the Oklahoma State Department of Education in the following areas: early childhood, elementary education, English, journalism, yearbook, learning disabilities, mental retardation, and reading specialist with endorsements in social studies and language arts. Dr. Young proudly returned to Northwestern in 1994 from the public school system and is the Director of Student Teaching in the Education Department.
