On Thursday, April 5, the Division of Nursing at Northwestern Oklahoma State University will play host to a Health Fair. This event is from 3-7 p.m. in the Northwestern-Enid Commons Area and is free and open to the public.
Junior nursing students are planning the health fair and have worked to gather booths with information pertaining to car seat safety, women’s heart health, dental hygiene, diet and exercise for children, contraception education, self-breast exams and cervical cancer, Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) education, breastfeeding education, vitamin supplements and prenatal health and stress management.
From 3-5:30 p.m., individuals are welcome to visit information booths. At 5:30 p.m., Nancye Turner, lactation consultant with Integris Bass Baptist Health Center, will discuss breastfeeding. Following Turner’s discussion, Dr. Keelie Tucker, obstetrics and gynecology physician at Integris Bass Baptist Health Center, will highlight the preconceptions of health care.
Following Tucker’s presentation, there will be additional time available to browse the booths.
For more information about the Health Fair, contact Jennifer Mahieu, instructor of nursing, at (580) 327-8494 or email@example.com.
