April 25, 2013 -- A joint exhibition featuring the culminating work of 12 artist-scholars from the Northwestern Oklahoma State University studio art and studio piano programs will occur during the Northwestern Art and Piano Scholar Exhibition on Thursday, May 2 from 6-8 p.m. in the Fine Arts Building, room 200.

October 25, 2012 -- “Animalier: The Animal in Contemporary Art,” an exhibition of art focusing on the animal form, is sponsored by the Studio Art Program at Northwestern Oklahoma State University, and will run from Nov. 2 to Dec. 2, at the Graceful Arts Center in downtown Alva.

April 27, 2012 -- Two photographs, a drawing and a dress made from recycled newspapers earned the top awards during the Ninth Annual Northwestern Oklahoma State University Art Society (NAS) Art Show. These items and other winning entries will be displayed in a special show at the Runnymede Hotel on April 30 and May 1, which is free and open to the public. A reception for artists and the public will be Monday, April 30, from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

February 7, 2012 -- Fifty works of art by 38 high school students from the area will be on display for one week starting Friday in a juried high school art exhibition sponsored by the Northwestern Oklahoma State University Studio Art program. An opening reception with light refreshments for the high school students, their parents and families, guests and members of the university and local communities will take place Friday from 7 to 8 p.m. in the J.W. Martin Library.

January 11, 2012 -- The deadline is drawing near for high school artists who’d like to be considered for the first juried high school art exhibition sponsored by the Northwestern Oklahoma State University Studio Art program. Students in grades 9-12 or their teachers may submit digital photographs of student artwork electronically or by mail through Jan. 23. Those accepted to show their artwork in the exhibition will be notified no later than Jan. 27.

The Northwestern Oklahoma State University Studio Art program is co-sponsoring its first “Draw-In” event Friday, Dec. 2, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Graceful Arts Gallery and Studios in downtown Alva.

November 18, 2011 -- Entries for artwork created by high school students in grades 9-12 are now being accepted for consideration in the first juried high school art exhibition sponsored by the Northwestern Oklahoma State University Studio Art program. Two-dimensional artwork (painting, drawing, photography, collage, etc.) and three-dimensional artwork (sculpture, textile work, assemblage) is eligible for entry.
