SHAWNEE, Okla. – The Northwestern Oklahoma State cross country team opened up the 2008 season at the Oklahoma Baptist Bison Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 27. Northwestern’s women’s team finished sixth with eight runners competing, while the men had two entrants.
Individually for the women, Kacee McCulley led the way with a 27th place finish with a time of 21:33. Shelby Austin followed with a 23:59, putting herself in 47th place. Not far behind was Krystle Martinez recording a 24:25 for 50th place. Rachel Kliewer, Kaylen Kirby, Mercedes Key, Chelsea Leathers and Kendra Schnebel also competed.
On the men’s side, Conner Hobbs and Walker Brainard competed with times of 32:04 and 33:15, respectively.
Northwestern’s next meet will be on Saturday, Oct. 4 at the Cowboy Jamboree at Oklahoma State University.
