Congratulations to Evelyn Restivo, Brian Lamore and Jill Lewis for earning prestigious awards at their Texas AAPT section meeting in San Angelo!
Karen Jo Matsler presented the Katherine Mays Award for Outstanding Contributions to Physics Education to Evelyn Restivo. Brian Lamore and Jill Lewis received Outstanding Physics Teaching Awards for the state.

Karen Jo Matsler, by the way, is a long-time PTRA advocate. She is involved in PTRA programs across the nation either as a leader, as an evaluator/researcher and at administrative levels to ensure the longevity of the program.
These awards to our PTRA ToPPS leaders just further demonstrate how the AAPT/PTRA folks know how to select its leaders so that teachers can get the most out of programs like ToPPS. At the NWOSU ToPPS institute, I saw firsthand how Evelyn, Brian and Jill would be likely candidates for these honors. And, if you are like me, you know that their interactions with us have positively influenced what goes on in classrooms around the state.
To close, in an email to me Evelyn states: Even if you don't want to post the pictures you can actually see that sometimes we dress different than in the summer.
We hear ya', Evelyn -- and we won't even pick on Brian for wearing a tie :)
Congratulations to all of you, it is well deserved!
