Conference road struggles continue for Ranger soccer

SILOAM SPRINGS, Ark. (10-11-11) – The Northwestern Oklahoma State University women’s soccer team continues their road struggles in conference play, falling to John Brown (Ark.), 1-0, on Tuesday.

Northwestern falls to 4-8 overall and remains winless in five conference matches. Up next for the Rangers is a home date against conference opponent Rogers State at 4 p.m. at the Alva Recreation Complex.

In Tuesday’s battle with the Golden Eagles, the Rangers had several opportunities early in the contest, but were unable to put the ball in the net.

Denise Rangle, Taylor Marsh and Brianne Brown the three shots on goal for the Rangers. Northwestern was outshot by the Golden Eagles, 18-8.

Picking up the loss in goal for the Rangers was Caitlin Thorpe. She saved six shots John Brown shots in the match, five of which came during the first half of play.

The lone goal in the contest came in the 27th minute off the foot of John Brown’s Cam Martin.
