• The Theatre Program produces an average of three productions  annually, one of which is a children's play.  The children's productions are well attended by local and regional elementary schools, day care facilities and church groups. Some children's productions have traveled to off campus locations. 
• Other theatrical productions range from musical to classical theatre and are presented on-campus to complete the season. 
• Students are encouraged to become well rounded theatre professionals. A theatre student is required to participate in all areas of theatre production from management to tech.
• If a student desires he will also be given numerous opportunities to act, design, and direct.  One such opportunity is the university's annual summer children's theatre program in collaboration with the Alva Youth Council.
• Local children act and university students produce, design and direct dramatic activities as well as present a final production for the community. 
• Northwestern Oklahoma State University's Theatre students also are given various opportunities to attend professional and graduate school auditions and are highly encouraged to attend professional theatrical workshops, meetings and conferences.
